This NEPA Gives: Help Keep Our Programs Thriving
At The Cooperage Project, we believe community grows when people of all ages have places to gather, learn, create, and feel at home. Every week, our programs bring together youth, seniors, families, artists, and neighbors with a wide range of interests for meaningful experiences that spark connection, creativity, and joy.
From youth programs and arts activities to welcoming gatherings for older adults and events that celebrate culture across generations, our work is designed to meet people where they are. We strive to offer programming that is inclusive, engaging, and reflective of the needs and interests of our community — programs that welcome people in, meet real needs, and create meaningful opportunities for connection.
This year, a recent flood caused major disruption to our buildings and made our work even more challenging. Even so, our commitment to the people we serve has never been stronger, and we remain focused on keeping our programs accessible and responsive to community needs.
Your NEPA Gives gift helps sustain the programs that make The Cooperage Project such a vital part of community life. It supports opportunities for youth, seniors, and people of all ages to connect through arts and culture, shared learning, and joyful gathering. It also helps us continue showing up for the neighbors who rely on this space for inspiration, connection, and a sense of belonging.
Please join us this NEPA Gives and help keep these programs growing for the people who count on them most.
Some Of Our Programs:
Romping Radishes
A hands-on, joy-filled program for young children that encourages curiosity, movement, and early learning. Romping Radishes helps little ones explore the world around them through playful experiences that support growth and discovery.
Coop Camps
Coop Camps fill an important need in our community by offering children engaging summer enrichment where those opportunities can be hard to find. These camps give kids a chance to learn, create, play, and grow during the summer months.
Pop-Up Club
A free afterschool STEAM program for middle school students in three local school districts. Pop-Up Club gives young people a space to explore science, technology, engineering, art, and math through hands-on activities that spark curiosity and confidence.
Senior Gatherings
A warm place for older adults to come together, share stories, and enjoy meaningful time with one another. These biweekly gatherings help reduce isolation and create space for friendship, conversation, and community.
Main Street Farmers Market
More than a place to shop, our indoor weekly market brings neighbors together with local growers, makers, and community connections all winter long. It adds fresh food, local energy, and a sense of shared life to downtown Honesdale.
Cooperage Presents Concerts / Performances
These concerts and performances bring people together for live arts experiences that enrich our community and celebrate creativity. Each event offers a chance to gather, enjoy, and share something memorable across generations.
Acoustic Bluegrass Jam
A welcoming musical gathering where players and listeners come together to share songs, build community, and enjoy the joy of live acoustic music. It’s a relaxed, intergenerational space rooted in connection and creativity.
Teen Open Mic and Karaoke
A fun, low-pressure space for teens to express themselves, share their voices, and cheer each other on. Whether performing or just showing up, teens find a place to belong and be celebrated.
And so many more!!

Our mission is simple but powerful: to invite people of all ages to embrace diversity and shared experiences to create a deeper sense of community. This mission guides everything we do, from our bustling farmers markets to our youth art lounges, from community meals to educational workshops.
The Cooperage Project was founded in 2012 in a restored barrel making factory with the idea that strong communities are built upon strong relationships. We strive to foster a culture of collaboration and a space where big ideas have room to grow. The Cooperage is more than just a brick building. It is a vibrant hub for people of all ages, incomes, and abilities to meet, learn, grow, and have fun.
