SOUTH SCRANTON CONNECTOR TRAIL
The South Scranton Connector Trail will create miles of trails that connect residents to 8,000 acres of Pinchot State Forest. These hiking and mountain biking trails will bring the enormous benefits of outdoor recreation to the doorstep of hundreds of families who live in nearby affordable housing. Having completed a feasibility study, we are raising money for comprehensive community engagement, so residents can design features for a trail created by them, not just for them. VIM is partnering with Individual Abilities in Motion and Anthracite Bicycle Coalition to ensure the features are created with accessibility and durability in mind. We're also supporting a volunteer Friends of the Connector Trail group tasked with stewardship of this important public resource.
