Picture driving down Main Street during your morning commute and seeing a beautiful mural that captures the history and joy of your city. Or visiting a small river-side town, just to seek out the unique murals that you can't imagine in any other space. That's what VIM is doing with Creative Communities in Forest City.
We are gathering residents to share the story of Forest City through art and connecting them with talented muralists to tell that story. Neighbors have gathered and shared meaningful history that exemplify the heritage of their town. When complete, there will 9 beautiful murals that will brighten residents' daily lives. They will also draw up visitors from the nearby D&H Rail Trail, spurring economic development and a greater connection to outdoor recreation.
The pride in your hometown is best when shared with others, and with this project, Forest City residents get to share their story with art throughout their streets.
