HELP FRINGE CELEBRATE 12 YEARS OF THEATER, MUSIC, ART, AND MORE BY MAKING A DONATION!
Scranton Fringe is an award-winning arts organization that has produced innovative work since 2015, dedicated to creating a bold, engaging platform for thought-provoking art while striving to promote Northeast Pennsylvania as a viable creative environment. Inspired by the world's largest annual event, the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, our organization has become an incubator of unique creative work centered around the performing arts. Our flagship event is the Scranton Fringe Festival, an annual celebration of the creative arts, culture, and community! Since 2015, theatrical ensembles and independent artists have presented hundreds of productions, workshops, and special events at a multi-day/multi-venue festival held every fall throughout downtown Scranton, PA.
Your generous support helps ensure:
- Keep tickets affordable (and many events free)!
- Provide paid work for local artists, writers, designers, arts educators, and more!
- We can afford venues, tech crew, and marketing costs.
- That Fringe Fest can spark over $250,000 in the local economy.
- We can continue to expand our programming - including our free youth theater workshops in tandem with the YAC
We love discovery and experimentation within the arts - celebrating fantastic successes and brilliant failures on (and off) stage! Our work ranges from the classic to the contemporary, from the experimental to the traditional, ranging in mediums from live theatre, podcasts, immersive art installations, and much more!
We believe the arts catalyze change in nearly every facet of community growth and deserve a seat at the table. Our festival generates $250,000 annually in the local economy, and we strive to keep our programming as affordable for all as possible, including free events and performances!
We trust in the power of what a few creative-minded people can do to help a region truly thrive! We try to place people at the center of our work as much as possible. Our efforts to be more inclusive are represented in dynamic programming, such as our all-BIPOC film series (Taking Up Space) and our LGBTQ StorySlam, which we present yearly!
The Scranton Fringe Festival is returning, for our 12th year, October 1 - 10, 2026!
