Hi!! I'm Josie Bella Sharpe and have I got a story to tell.  I started this life living on the streets of Turkey.  Based on the scars on my body and the chip on my shoulder, my moms think I had to fight for food, shelter, and survival everyday for the first 2 years of my life.   Lucky for me I was found by an animal rescue organization in Istanbul who saved me from certain death. They partnered with Adopt A Boxer Rescue to get me healthy and to the United States where I would have a chance at a great life in a "furever" home.

On January 23, 2026, I began the longest, most life changing journey of my life.  I said goodbye to all of my saviors in Turkey and boarded a flight to JFK.  Ten hours and 5,000 miles later, I was safe and sound at the ARK at JFK where everyone loved on me, fed me, and a vet made sure that I was healthy enough to meet my new moms.

On January 27, 2026, my new moms drove all the way from Delaware to get me and take me to my new home.  There was a slight mix up along the way and they almost took my travel buddy instead but that's a story for another day...

The first few days were scary at first.  I had to learn a new language, the bathroom rules of living indoors, and I got a bath.  Did I mention there was over a foot of snow/ice on the ground at my new home?  That was different.  I couldn’t believe that food and water just appeared everyday and I didn’t have to fight for it.  My favorite thing was having the warmth and comfort of a bed and not needing to sleep with one eye open.  My whole world changed in just a few days.  I went from Istanbul to Insta-loved thanks to the amazing work of Adopt A Boxer Rescue.

My English isn't great but I'm pretty sure every day my moms thank me for coming into their lives.  I stare at them lovingly as my way of thanking them for giving me an awesome life.  But we owe the biggest thanks to the volunteers of Adopt A Boxer Rescue.  In addition to the work they do here in the United States, they often lend a hand to international rescue organizations to make sure that dogs like me can have a chance for a great life.

If you liked my story and want to help make sure that AABR will be able to continue their rescue efforts, please make a donation during this special NEPA Gives (Northeastern Pennsylvania) 24 hour fundraiser.  No matter how big, or small the donation, it will go a long way to securing the safety and future of more dogs like me!
