Pattie’s Waggin’ Tails Senior Sanctuary and B & Let Liv Project are proud to collaborate for NEPA Gives 2026 with one shared mission: strengthening the bond between canines and the humans who love them.
This fundraiser supports senior dogs who have been abandoned, surrendered, or left behind due to age, illness, or hardship — and it also supports the people who need assistance to keep or heal alongside their beloved companions. We believe compassion does not stop at the leash. When we support both the animal and the human, we change outcomes for entire families.
At Pattie’s Waggin’ Tails Senior Sanctuary, we specialize in the most overlooked population in rescue: senior dogs. Many arrive with complex medical needs — heart disease, dental infections, mobility issues, vision loss, cancer, and chronic conditions requiring ongoing care. They often need frequent veterinary visits, diagnostics, medications, prescription diets, and sometimes hospice-level support. These are not short-term expenses; they are commitments of love and responsibility for the rest of a dog’s life.
Through our Forever Foster and sanctuary programs, we ensure that no senior dog is denied comfort, dignity, or medical care simply because of age.
At the same time, B & Let Liv Project works to support humans facing hardship, grief, medical challenges, or crisis — recognizing that pets are often emotional lifelines. For many seniors, veterans, individuals battling illness, or families facing financial strain, a dog is not “just a pet.” They are stability. They are companionship. They are healing.
Funds raised during NEPA Gives 2026 will directly support:
• Veterinary care for senior sanctuary dogs
• Emergency and ongoing medical treatments
• Prescription food and medications
• Comfort and hospice supplies for aging dogs
• Assistance programs that help humans keep or care for their beloved pets
• Community support efforts that strengthen the human-animal bond
This collaboration exists because we see the full picture. We see the elderly dog surrendered after an owner passes away. We see the senior citizen struggling to afford prescription food. We see the family in crisis trying desperately not to give up their companion. And we step in.
When members fundraise for this event, they are not just raising dollars. They are telling stories of loyalty, second chances, dignity, and unconditional love. They are giving voice to the senior dog who deserves one last soft bed. They are advocating for the widow who cannot imagine life without her companion. They are standing up for compassion in action.
Every dollar raised becomes tangible impact:
• A diagnostic test that catches illness early
• A dental procedure that relieves chronic pain
• A month of heart medication
• A bag of prescription food
• A hospice comfort package
• A safety net that keeps a dog from entering a shelter
NEPA Gives 2026 is about more than a single day of generosity. It is about building a community that believes aging is not a reason to discard life — human or canine. It is about recognizing that sometimes the most powerful rescue happens when we stabilize the human so the dog never has to lose their home.
We care about both ends of the leash because they belong together.
We invite our members to share why this mission matters to them. Share a story about a senior dog who changed your life. Share why keeping pets with their people is important. Share why aging with dignity — for dogs and humans alike — is worth fighting for.
Together, through collaboration and community, we can ensure that love does not have an expiration date.
