The NEPA Animal Welfare Collaborative was created by the Scranton Area Community Foundation to bring local animal welfare organizations and community advocates together with a shared goal: improving the lives of animals and the people who care for them throughout Northeastern Pennsylvania. By working together, our partners are able to share resources, strengthen community support, and focus on solutions that make a real difference for animals in need.

One of the greatest challenges facing animal shelters and rescues today is responding to emergency intake situations. Local organizations are often called upon to take in animals who are abandoned, abused, neglected, injured, displaced, or surrendered unexpectedly. These emergency situations can place a tremendous financial strain on shelters and rescues already working with limited resources.

That’s why the NEPA Animal Welfare Collaborative is raising funds during NEPA Gives to provide emergency intake funding for collaborative member shelters and rescues across our region. These funds will help organizations respond quickly when urgent situations arise by supporting immediate veterinary care, food, shelter, medical treatment, rehabilitation, and other critical needs for animals entering care unexpectedly.

Your support helps ensure that local shelters and rescues have the resources they need to say “yes” when animals are in crisis. By donating, you are directly helping collaborative member organizations provide compassionate care, lifesaving services, and safe shelter to vulnerable animals throughout Northeastern Pennsylvania.

Together, we can make a lasting impact for animals in our community and strengthen the network of organizations working tirelessly on their behalf. Every contribution helps provide hope, healing, and protection for animals who need it most.
