The Greenhouse Project

A nonprofit organization

The Greenhouse Project empowers people of all ages—from children to adults—to build healthier, more resilient lives through education, movement, nature, and food. Our programs cultivate self-reliance by teaching practical skills in gardening, cooking, wellness, and healthy eating, while providing safe, meaningful experiences in nature. We help individuals understand the powerful connection between the food they eat and their personal well-being.

Through hands-on learning and community engagement, we strengthen resilience, expand access to healthy food, and reduce hunger and food insecurity. We promote a sustainable food ecosystem that supports both human health and environmental stewardship, advancing disease prevention through nutrition, movement, and active living.

We operate a 3,000-square-foot greenhouse in Nay Aug Park and manage two thriving community gardens. These spaces provide hands-on horticultural education, increase access to fresh food, and support our mission through plant cultivation and sales.

Who We Are

The Greenhouse Project -- a small local non-profit growing a sustainable community through education, wholesome food, and healthy, active living. We bring people together through strong partnerships and inclusive programs that empower both children and adults to build healthier lives.

Our programs include plant-based nutrition, cooking classes, organic and community gardening, composting, pollinator education, yoga and fitness, and outdoor experiences such as hiking, kayaking, and fishing. Through hands-on learning, we increase awareness and teach practical skills that promote self-reliance, informed food choices, and support for local farms and food systems.

We educate communities about the connection between food, personal health, and environmental stewardship—promoting disease prevention through nutrition, movement, and active living. Through our 3,000-square-foot greenhouse in Nay Aug Park and three community gardens, we provide hands-on horticultural education, increase access to fresh food, and grow organic plants that help sustain our mission.

We encourage people to grow their own food and make conscious choices for lifelong health and well-being.
