Who We Are

Since our founding in 1953, the Taylor Community Library has grown and evolved while still serving our mission: to enhance the community by supporting all individuals in their pursuit of knowledge, education, and recreation. We were a founding member of the Lackawanna County Library System upon its establishment in 1982, and when our thriving library outgrew its location in 2006, we moved to a newly constructed building on South Main Street that the library has called home ever since. The Taylor Community Library serves all of Lackawanna County, with a specific focus on the Triboro area.

The Taylor Community Library serves as a community hub and offers a wide variety of classes and programs for children, teens, and adults. With the help of our community partners and local service organizations, we offer everything from cooking demonstrations and tax rebate workshops to pottery classes and story times. Our circulating collection features books, DVDs, board games, puzzles, magazines, and even more - all free to borrow with your library card. We have e-resources like Libby for e-books and e-audiobooks, databases for learning languages and conducting genealogy research, and more. Whether you are looking for a book club, an instructional class, or just an opportunity to engage with other members of your community, the library is the place to be! We also offer essential resources like free computer use, mobile printing, faxing, and photocopying services.
