Help us set the table with new furniture for our Community Room!

This year for NEPA Gives, the Carbondale Public Library is asking for donations to help us purchase new nesting tables and stackable chairs for our Community Room.  These items will help to make this space more versatile for both library and community functions - allowing for a more customizable space for activities.  We hope you will consider donating to our chairity this year.

About Us

The Carbondale Public Library opened its doors to the public May 9, 1874 and is the oldest public library in Lackawanna County.  The library now offers a variety of services to the public including:

· Book, DVD, e-book, and magazine loans
· Free computer and Wi-Fi use
· Technology aid
· Programming for all ages
· Outreach services
· Notary services
· Printing/scanning/faxing services
· Genealogical resources
· and so much more!

The Greater Carbondale Public Library is where literacy, local history and community connect.

The library’s service area includes the City of Carbondale, Carbondale Township, Jermyn Borough, Mayfield Borough, Fell Township, Greenfield Township, and Vandling Borough. The school districts it serves are Carbondale Area School District and Lakeland School District.

Our community is the reason the library continues to thrive.  Without your support, your use of our collections and resources, and your continued attendance at our many programs, the library would not be the cornerstone of the community that it is.

Thank you for considering donating to the library.
Sincerely,
The Staff of the Carbondale Public Library
and the Board of Directors
