Help support the oldest library in Lackawanna County!

The Carbondale Public Library opened its doors to the public May 9, 1874 in a small, corner room of the D&H offices in Carbondale, PA.  We have come a long way in our 151 years from moving into our own building and expanding our collection size and our services.  The library now offers a variety of services to the public including:

  ·        Book, DVD, CD, e-book, and magazine loans
 ·        Free computer and WiFi use
 ·        Technology aid
 ·        Programming for all ages
 ·        Outreach services
 ·        Notary services
 ·        Printing/scanning/faxing services
 ·        Genealogical resources
 ·        and so much more!

The Greater Carbondale Public Library is where literacy, local history and community connect.

The library’s service area includes the City of Carbondale, Carbondale Township, Jermyn Borough, Mayfield Borough, Fell Township, Greenfield Township, and Vandling Borough. The school districts it serves are Carbondale Area School District and Lakeland School District.

Our community is the reason the library continues to thrive.  Without your support, your use of our collections and resources, and your continued attendance at our many programs, the library would not be the cornerstone of the community that it is.

Thank you for considering donating to the library.
Sincerely,
The Staff of the Carbondale Public Library
and the Board of Directors
