Since opening with 75 donated books in a tiny storefront on June 18, 1960, the Abington Community Library has grown steadily in service to people across generations, backgrounds and walks of life.
What started over 60 years ago, as a modest effort to make a place for people to borrow books for educational and leisure reading, has become a center for community, providing meeting space, virtual and onsite programming, digital access, and workshops on everything from career development, to social security, to creative writing.
