Federal funding for public media has ended. Press freedom is under assault. And the local news and culture that communities like ours depend on are increasingly at risk of being drowned out, defunded, or simply disappearing. We're determined to make sure that never happens here — and this spring, we're taking the biggest step in Radio Catskill's history to ensure it doesn't.

We are thrilled to share that Radio Catskill has joined forces with WIOX Community Radio (91.3 FM) in Roxbury, NY, with plans to acquire all of WIOX's assets, including its FCC license. This is a landmark partnership that will bring our two beloved stations together as a unified regional public radio service.

Once complete, this partnership will extend Radio Catskill's signal across the entire greater Catskills region — from the southern valleys all the way to the northern peaks — and throughout Northeast Pennsylvania, positioning Radio Catskill for significant growth — broadening its broadcast footprint, deepening its community roots, and securing the financial foundation needed to serve listeners for generations to come.
