For more than 60 years, Schuylkill Community Action (SCA) has stood beside individuals and families across Schuylkill County during some of life’s most difficult moments. Since our founding in 1965, our mission has remained clear: to focus all available resources on low-income Schuylkill County residents, empowering them to achieve self-sufficiency.

We believe that every neighbor deserves dignity, stability, and the opportunity to build a better future. For many families, that begins with something fundamental: safe and affordable housing. A stable home provides the foundation for improved health, educational success, financial growth, and overall well-being. Without it, every other challenge becomes harder to overcome.

That is why SCA works every day to remove barriers and create pathways forward. From housing assistance and home rehabilitation to financial education, food security, and energy support, our programs address immediate crises while also building long-term stability. We do not simply provide temporary relief. We walk alongside individuals and families as they work toward lasting independence.
