Pocono Plateau Camp & Retreat Center

Pocono Plateau Camp & Retreat Center is a beloved sacred space set apart for children and youth to engage in the transformative experience of summer camp and for all ages to gather, worship, and grow together during retreats and events. As part of the United Methodist Conference of Eastern Pennsylvania, we hope to be an extension of the body of Christ in serving God's call to walk humbly, seek justice, and love mercy. We are passionate about nurturing faith formation, modeling Christ through love and hospitality, and providing well cared for spaces for community formation. 

Our mission is to provide welcoming spaces immersed in nature for all to experience the Spirit of God and love of Jesus through community, recreation, and reflection. We do this in many ways through the summer camp season, sponsored and outside retreats, school programs and outdoor education, and community involvement.

Pocono Plateau has provided overnight summer camp for 79 years! In recent years, we have received many inquiries from local parents asking about whether we provide day camp. We understand the needs for childcare in our area has grown as the population here continues to expand. In response, we launched a brand new Day Camp program over 9 weeks during our Summer season in 2024.  

Our hope is to provide an affordable Christian day camp for local families where campers can explore outdoors, experience exciting adventures, make new friends, and learn about God through recreation and community. This year for NEPA Gives we are hoping to raise funds for exactly that. We are looking bolster our Camper Scholarship Fund to be able to support families in need of affordable child care for the summer.

We hope to honor your commitment to Pocono Plateau through our diligent stewardship of financial resources. We also hope to encourage new donors to participate in NEPA Gives to help us extend our reach through offering affordable childcare for those in need.
