NeighborWorks Northeastern Pennsylvania is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit community development organization that has been dedicated to revitalizing neighborhoods and improving lives in the region for over 40 years. Our mission is to create stable, vibrant communities by amplifying resident voices, providing critical housing assistance, offering financial guidance, delivering community development services, and fostering proactive partnerships. We envision a flourishing northeastern Pennsylvania community where all neighborhoods are vibrant, safe, and people thrive in secure and dignified homes. With a focus on resident empowerment, neighborhood revitalization, sustainable homeownership, and public-private partnerships, we strive to address the most pressing housing needs and contribute to the overall well-being of the community.

Homeownership Center

Our Homeownership Center assists prospective first-time homebuyers in achieving their dream of homeownership. As a HUD-approved counseling agency and a chartered member of NeighborWorks America, we guide homebuyers throughout the entire process to ensure long-term, responsible homeownership. Our comprehensive services include homebuyer education classes, personalized housing and credit counseling, and access to affordable financing products. By equipping individuals and families with the necessary knowledge and support, we empower them to make informed decisions and eliminate surprises associated with homeownership.

Aging in Place

Our Aging in Place program is designed to support homeowners aged 60 and above in living safely and independently in their homes and communities. Through collaboration with human services organizations, we evaluate individual needs and provide essential services tailored to each homeowner's lifestyle. These services include small home repairs, critical safety modifications, and community services that promote well-being, preserve independence, and foster social engagement. By addressing the specific challenges faced by older adults, we help enhance their mental and physical health, improve their sense of safety, and strengthen their connections with family and friends.

Community Development

Our Community Development program focuses on improving local communities in ways that have a lasting impact on residents' quality of life. Through partnerships with residents, community leaders, and organizations, we address real concerns and implement initiatives that enhance the well-being of the community. Our efforts encompass various areas, including facade improvement through the Beautiful Blocks program, vacant lot cleanups, and the implementation of a 10-year neighborhood revitalization plan. By engaging residents and fostering community pride, we aim to create vibrant and equitable communities that offer opportunities for all to thrive.
