Meals on Wheels of NEPA: More Than a Meal

Since 1969, Meals on Wheels of NEPA has been serving the region with home delivered meals, wellness checks, socialization, and more. These meals and programs cost qualifying clients NOTHING.

In 2025, we delivered over 250,000 meals to over 2,000 older adults, individuals with disabilities, and other vulnerable community members.

We do this through 4 unique programs:

Each meal costs us $6 for the food alone, meaning that the daily 1,500 meals we cook cost us $9,000 a day. This DOES NOT include things like gas for our vehicles or kitchen equipment costs, that covers our raw food bill alone.

Meals on Wheels of NEPA receives its funding from private foundations, contracts with other agencies, and from individual donors. We DO NOT receive direct government funding, meaning your tax dollars do not fund our operations. Although we are a proud member of Meals on Wheels America, the national advocacy entity, less than 1% of our funding comes from this organization. 

That's why NEPA Gives is so important for our organization- the money we raise today is crucial to ensuring we can continue to feed 1,500 vulnerable community members a day.
