Elan Skilled Nursing and Rehab, a Jewish Senior Life Community, formerly called the Jewish Home of Eastern Pennsylvania, is a 145 bed nonprofit, faith-based and short-term/long-term care community.

Founded in 1916, Elan Skilled Nursing and Rehab is a warm and inviting senior community that has earned a reputation as the Region's premier provider of short-term rehabilitation and long-term skilled nursing care, specializing in Parkinson's and Alzheimer's care.

In 2023, The Bridge at Elan, our state of the art short-term rehab unit, with a 6 chair dialysis den opened. Services on this unit are tailored to the needs of those with serious illness, injury, or post-surgical care needs who require rehabilitation therapy and/or nursing care to convalesce before returning home. 

Having a dialysis unit in our building is a first for our area, and is a significant benefit to our residents, eliminating the need to travel outside of the building for their dialysis treatments.

Please support our 2026 NEPA Gives campaign! This year, we hope you’ll support our effort to expand our in-house CPR Training Program which strengthens emergency preparedness for our residents. Currently, CPR classes are provided by an outside vendor and are limited to six participants. The funds raised will be used to train two staff RNs as certified CPR instructors and to purchase updated CPR manikins with real-time feedback, enabling us to expand class capacity to ten participants per month and increase our annual training capacity to up to 120 staff members (nearly a 70% increase).

Founded by Mrs. Selma Stark as an orphanage in 1916, the Jewish Home of Eastern Pennsylvania has grown to become a leading provider of short-term rehabilitation and long-term skilled nursing care.
