GAIT Equine Assisted Services

GAIT offers so much and yet there are still so many people left to reach and we need your help . GAIT partners with horses to help improve the lives of children and adults with special needs through a variety of programs both on- and off-horse. 

At GAIT, individuals with cognitive, emotional, physical, and/or behavioral challenges work toward a more independent life in society. Interacting with our specially-trained horses, they learn through visual, auditory, and tactile methods unique to equine-assisted environments. Participants build trust, increase confidence, and practice new life skills with the help of our equine assistants.

Here is how YOU can help

• Spread the word to individuals and organization serving those with special needs


• Tell any veterans that you know, GAIT's "Veterans with Horses" serves veterans and their families at no charge


• Check out the volunteer page on our website if you would like to help out


• Make a donation during NEPA Gives while your donation may qualify GAIT for a prize of up to $1,000

Who We Are

GAIT’s mission is, “To improve the quality of life of children and adults with special needs through equine activities and therapies, resulting in a more independent life in society.” GAIT accomplishes its mission using its specially trained horses, professional PATH International Certified Instructors, and dedicated, highly trained volunteers to provide equine activities and therapies for people with various disabilities.
