Bethany Children’s House Montessori Preschool in Honesdale, PA - Enriching young minds through creative pathways since 1981!

Would you believe some current BCH students have parents who attended BCH? Maybe some of them are even your grandchildren! It's a heartwarming thought that fills us with nostalgia and deep appreciation for the enduring community of families who have been part of our Montessori Preschool and the community at large that has supported us throughout the decades.

Reflecting on our journey, it's remarkable to think that Bethany Children’s House was founded in 1981. In those early days, the school's resilience shone brightly as several parents came together, taking turns to teach until a certified teacher could be hired. 

Our preschool has always relied on a strong sense of community, for which we are truly grateful.

As many of you may know, we moved to a new location last year, and we’ve been busy settling into our new home. We enjoy being next to Honesdale’s Central Park, where you will find many of our students playing together after school.

Our summer camp programs have also returned! We will use the proceeds from NEPA Gives Day to help fund these amazing programs with themes this year of STEM, tropical rain forests and American Artists! We know it is important to offer affordable, educational summer camp options that are open to the community and give relief to parents of young kids during the summer months, and we’ve got lots of fun in store!

To this day we remain grounded in the philosophies of Dr. Maria Montessori and believe in educating the whole child through peaceful communication, enthusiasm for learning, and exploration of our world. This has been our mission for 43 years, and it is one we hope to continue for the generations to come. It is also something that we could not do without the support of our community.

So, in advance, THANK YOU, to all of you who have shown up for us over the years in numerous ways. It truly does make a difference in allowing us to continue to do the work we set out to do since 1981.
