Washington Fire Company Community Ambulance Inc.

The Washington Fire Co. Community Ambulance Inc. is a community based ambulance service that was founded in 1936 and has responded to emergencies for 90 years. Our association operates out of one station utilizing two BLS (basic life support) ambulances and one medium duty rescue truck. Our association responds to an average of 1300 calls per year, with a primary coverage area of four boroughs and three townships. This coverage area includes an elementary school, a high school, three child daycare facilities, three adult daycare facilities, two elderly housing apartment buildings (one containing 50 units, the other containing 35 units), a transitional living facility for women and children, and the homes for approx. 16,000 residents. Our association also provides EMS and Rescue services to several additional communities through mutual aid agreements. Our mutual aid coverage area includes communities in Schuylkill, Northumberland and Columbia Counties. The Washington Fire Co. Community Ambulance Inc. also responds to several state highways on a regular basis for motor vehicle accidents.

Our mission is to provide first rate Emergency Medical Services to our communities while utilizing a dedicated staff of EMT’s and EMR’s that are courteous, polite and caring to our patients. We provide a much-needed community service with a dedicated staff of responders, administration, and board members.
