THE NEED
Our region is facing one of the most acute housing shortages in its history. For many families, one unexpected expense can mean losing their home.
REAL HELP, REAL RESULTS
On someone’s worst day, UNC housing counselors step in with one-on-one support to help families stay housed, stabilize their finances, and avoid homelessness.
In 2025:
• 254 clients served
• 2,979 hours of housing counseling
• 98% maintained stable housing for 1+ year
We provide:
• Eviction prevention
• Rental & utility assistance
• Security deposit support
• Budgeting workshops
• Connection to critical services
BUILDING FOR THE FUTURE
UNC does not just respond to families in crisis. Through our Community Development Corporation (UNCDC), we build long-term affordable housing across Northeastern Pennsylvania.
For 20 years, UNCDC has helped create affordable homes for seniors, families, and neighbors with low to moderate incomes. Recent developments include Fallbrook Apartments in Carbondale, Bucktown Center in Dunmore, and the Matzo Development in Pine Brook. We manage 402 units of quality, affordable housing; and developed 43 new units in 2025.
Your gift today helps prevent homelessness and builds housing stability locally.
