The Wyoming County Community Health Foundation is dedicated to strengthening the health, safety, and future of our rural community. Our mission is to support initiatives that improve access to healthcare, enhance emergency medical services, and invest in the next generation of healthcare professionals who will serve our region.

Wyoming County faces unique healthcare challenges. As a rural county, residents often experience longer emergency response times, limited access to healthcare providers, and increasing strain on local EMS agencies that serve as the front line of care. The Foundation works to address these challenges by supporting the equipment, training, and resources needed to keep our EMS system strong and responsive when our community needs it most.

One of our major priorities is supporting the sustainability of Emergency Medical Services throughout Wyoming County. In recent years, the county has experienced significant healthcare system changes, including the loss of a hospital and increasing demands on EMS providers. Our Foundation helps ensure that local ambulance services and first responders have access to the life-saving equipment and training necessary to deliver high-quality emergency care to residents across the county.

Through community fundraising efforts such as our annual golf tournament and other local events, the Foundation has helped support critical initiatives that directly benefit Wyoming County residents. Most recently, funds raised helped support the purchase of LifePak cardiac monitors for county EMS agencies. These advanced devices allow EMS crews to quickly assess cardiac conditions, transmit critical patient data to hospitals, and provide life-saving interventions during medical emergencies.

In addition to strengthening emergency services today, the Foundation is deeply committed to building the healthcare workforce of tomorrow. Our Healthcare Career Scholarships support local students pursuing careers in nursing, EMS, and other healthcare professions. By investing in students from our own community, we are helping to build a pipeline of future healthcare providers who understand the needs of rural residents and are more likely to return home to serve the region.

We have also collaborated with local schools to launch First Responders Clubs, an innovative program that introduces students in grades 8–12 to careers in emergency services. Through hands-on training in CPR, AED use, and First Aid, students gain valuable life-saving skills while exploring potential career pathways in EMS, healthcare, and public safety. The program not only prepares students to respond during emergencies but also inspires the next generation of community leaders and first responders.

At its core, the Wyoming County Community Health Foundation is built on the belief that strong communities require strong systems. By supporting emergency services, investing in education, and fostering partnerships across the region, the Foundation works to ensure that residents of Wyoming County have access to the care and resources they need both today and in the future.

Through the generosity of donors, sponsors, and community partners, we continue to make meaningful investments that improve health outcomes, strengthen emergency response capabilities, and create opportunities for young people pursuing healthcare careers!
