Red Creek Wildlife Center

Every wildlife patient has a story.

One recent patient was a Black-crowned Night Heron, a state-endangered species found orphaned and alone. After months of specialized care at Red Creek Wildlife Center, this young bird grew strong, learned the skills needed to survive in the wild, and was successfully released back where it belonged.

That story is repeated thousands of times each year.

Red Creek Wildlife Center is one of Pennsylvania's largest wildlife rehabilitation centers, providing a second chance to more than 4,000 injured, orphaned, and displaced wild animals annually. While based in Schuylkill County, our patients come from throughout eastern Pennsylvania and beyond.

What makes Red Creek unique?

We never close our doors due to capacity.
When other wildlife centers are forced to pause admissions during the busy spring and summer seasons, Red Creek has the facilities, staffing, and expertise to continue accepting wildlife in need. Every animal deserves a chance.

We care for all Pennsylvania wildlife species (except bears).
From tiny songbirds and baby rabbits to raptors, foxes, turtles, and endangered species, we provide specialized care tailored to each animal's needs.

We help build the future of wildlife rehabilitation.
Through classes, seminars, mentoring, and online training programs, Red Creek is helping create the next generation of wildlife rehabilitators. Many licensed rehabilitators throughout Pennsylvania began their journey with guidance from Red Creek.

We are here every day.
Wildlife emergencies don't take weekends or holidays off, and neither do we. Red Creek is open 365 days a year with three full-time licensed wildlife rehabilitators on staff year-round.

Your support makes every rescue, every treatment, every feeding, and every release possible.

When you give to Red Creek Wildlife Center, you are helping provide a second chance to Pennsylvania's wildlife while ensuring this vital service remains available to the communities that depend on it.

Our Mission:

To offer a second chance to distressed Pennsylvania wildlife
through rescue and rehabilitation, public education,
and by providing training for wildlife rehabilitators.
