Plymouth Public Library

The Plymouth Public Library provides patrons with resources they need in order to better their quality of life. The Plymouth Public Library is established and maintained to serve the informational, educational, and recreational needs of its community.

Plymouth Public Library has been a member of the Luzerne County Library System since the System was established in 1984. Our official service area is comprised of Plymouth and Larksville Boroughs, but we serve anyone with a card from a library in the Luzerne County Library System. Cards are free for Luzerne County residents.

The library offers a physical collection of over 30,000 volumes. Over 10,000 additional items are available on the Luzerne County Library System's eBook and audiobook app, cloudLibrary, which is free to patrons. We also offer regular programming for preschool and school age children. The library provides additional services such as:

With a Luzerne County library card, patrons can borrow materials, use public computers, and online resources. Patrons often use these resources to apply for jobs and complete schoolwork. Below is the link to a list of databases available with a Luzerne County library card:

Plymouth Public Library provides free tax forms yearly. We provide a list of food pantries, thanks to our community partners at Commission on Economic Opportunity. We also serve as a collection site for the year-round Plymouth Borough Planning Agency food drive.

The library works closely with Plymouth Alive, Rotary Club of Plymouth, Plymouth VFW Post 1425, Plymouth Borough council, our local fire and police departments, and Luzerne County Department of Emergency Services: 911 Communications to carry out our mission.

In 2025, the Plymouth Public Library had 4,809 active patrons and hosted 161 programs attended by 2,559 people.
