The Junior League of Scranton’s history dates back to 1935, when founder Margaret L Richards determined a need in the Scranton area and formed the Welfare League of Scranton. On February 15, 1940 the League joined the Association of Junior Leagues of America and officially became the Junior League of Scranton. For more than 80 years the Junior League of Scranton has been serving the greater Scranton Community and building up women and communities in the process.
