Rosco is truly special.

Last year, he was found in Mississippi after being intentionally hit by a car. He was living on a filthy mattress inside an abandoned house, scared and neglected. An incredible woman rescued him, brought him into her home, and made sure he received the medical care he needed — all while caring for many animals of her own and battling illness herself.

Knowing Rosco needed more support, she reached out to AABR, and thankfully they said yes. They welcomed him into rescue and arranged for him to be transported to a foster home in Maryland, where I eventually traveled to meet him and bring him home.

Within minutes of my arrival, I noticed signs that made me fear he was in the early stages of degenerative myelopathy (DM). I prayed I was wrong, but unfortunately, I wasn’t.

Even so, I knew I wanted to give him the best life possible for whatever time he has left. And somehow, despite everything he’s endured, Rosco remains happy, loving, and full of life. It feels like he’s always been here.

In just seven short months, his condition has progressed significantly, and now there ia also a chance that he has bladder cancer. He doesn’t deserve any of this.

Every single day, I am grateful to Adopt A Boxer Rescue for saying yes to him. Rosco was meant to be part of my life, and without their dedication and compassion, I never would have had the chance to love this incredible dog.

Please consider supporting AABR so they can continue saving dogs like Rosco — dogs who deserve a second chance, safety, and love.
