The Greenhouse Project

A nonprofit organization

The Greenhouse Project offers a variety of programs serving kids through adults. Our programs give people opportunity and skills for a healthy life through self-reliance, a safe experience in nature activities, and programs about healthy eating, cooking and gardening. We help people connect the relationship between the foods we eat and our personal health. Our programs increase resilience, offer education and reduce hunger and food insecurity.  The Greenhouse Project promotes a food ecosystem that is healthy for both people and the environment and promotes disease prevention through diet, movement and active living. Additionally, we operate a 3000 sq. ft. greenhouse in Scranton’s Nay Aug Park and two thriving community gardens. The greenhouse allows us to teach hands-on horticulture classes and sell plants and to help support our mission.
