Everhart Museum of Natural History, Science & Art

$7,347 raised by 34 donors

Founded in Scranton's historic Nay Aug Park in 1908, the Everhart Museum has enriched, inspired, and educated generations of people throughout the region and beyond through experiences in natural history, science, and art. Much of the collection documents and preserves Northeastern Pennsylvania’s unique cultural and natural heritage.

In addition to caring for and exhibiting the collections, the Museum provides educational and interpretive programs for all ages. With a multidisciplinary and inclusive approach, the Everhart creates extraordinary opportunities that stimulate learning, creative expression, and active engagement in the arts and sciences. We offer several free or low cost programs including school tours, Everhart Explorers Summer Camp, and Museum Adventure Toolkits, which are boxes of lessons and materials for Museum-based learning that are distributed to public schools across the region at no cost to them.

Throughout the year, the Museum hosts a wide range of special events, including free community days, gallery talks, creative workshops, and more.

We believe in the power of the Everhart Museum to spark the imagination, challenge thought and provide enjoyment. Through our collections, exhibitions, and programs, we strive to integrate natural history, science, and art into the lives of people, and we make these opportunities accessible to everyone.
