On October 13, 2020, our community lost someone truly special.

Jimmy Balchune was just 39 years old—a devoted husband, a proud father to Logan and Mia, and the kind of person who showed up for everyone. Whether it was family, friends, or a neighbor in need, Jimmy lived his life with one simple mission: put others first.

And even in his passing, that didn't change.

Jimmy gave the ultimate gift as an organ donor—saving seven lives.

In the days that followed, one thing became clear: We couldn't let Jimmy's story end there.

The Jimmy Balchune Memorial Fund was created to carry on what Jimmy did best—helping others. What started as a way to honor his life has become something much bigger: a community-driven mission to support individuals and families throughout the Greater Pittston Area during their toughest moments.

Because that's exactly what Jimmy would have done.

This isn't just a fund—it's a lifeline.

Over the past five years, thanks to people like you, we've been able to give back:

Over $75,000 directly to local families and individuals.

Support for those facing unexpected hardships.

Assistance when it matters most—when people don't know where else to turn.

Behind every dollar is a story.

A family who got a little breathing room.

A person who felt seen, supported, and not alone.

Each year, our community comes together for something special:

The Annual Jimmy Balchune Memorial Barbecue & Music Fundraiser!

Now entering our 6th year, this event has become more than just a fundraiser—it's a celebration of Jimmy's life, his love for family, and the power of a community that refuses to let that spirit fade.

It's a day filled with great food, live music, laughter, and remembrance—but most importantly, it's a day that fuels everything we do for the year ahead.
