Create Opportunities at Coffee Inclusive

Coffee Inclusive is a center of inclusion focused on education, activity, advocacy, training, and employment for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD), including Down syndrome and Autism. 

At our nonprofit coffee shop and bakery, team members with and without disabilities work side by-side, creating a collaborative space where everyone’s unique contributions are celebrated. We take pride in providing more than delicious coffee and baked goods—we’re building a culture of respect, growth, and belonging.

Employment of people with IDD is a vital need in Northeast PA and across the state. The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania reports that as of mid-2025 only 22% of people with disabilities are gainfully employed, compared to 70% -75% of the general population. However, once employed these same people have an 85% retention rate. Furthermore, in Pennsylvania and nationally, people with intellectual disabilities tend to have the lowest employment rates among disability groups because of barriers related to transportation, employer perceptions, support availability, benefits concerns, and access to job coaching.

Coffee Inclusive directly addresses this need through employment and training programs that empower team members to learn and grow in a supportive environment. 

Funds raised will support daily operations, employment opportunities, and training activities.
