Our Story
Twelve years ago, in celebration of its 50th reunion, Scranton Central High School's Class of 1964 established a scholarship fund at the Scranton Area Community Foundation.
Thanks to the generosity of classmates, family members and friends -- as well as sound fiscal management by the Foundation's board and staff -- our fund has prospered.
Our fund provides an annual scholarship to a graduating senior at Scranton High School in support of her/his continuing education.
To date, the fund has benefited 12 deserving students with financial aid totaling more than $9,800. This year's award of $1,550 is the largest ever.
Over the past seven years, our participation in NEPA GIVES raised more than $6,000 for our scholarship fund. This year, our goal is to exceed $500 in new gifts and add to the impressive growth of the fund.
Many thanks for your interest and support.
