True Friends Animal Welfare Center Inc

Hi there! We are True Friends Animal Welfare Center, a local animal rescue proudly perched in the small town of Montrose, Pa! We are a 501 c3 non-profit, no kill, animal rescue organization much like many others- understaffed and overpopulated! We serve Susquehanna, Wyoming and neighboring counties and are currently caring for approximately 100 animal residents (cats and dogs) all varying in age, size, breed and needs with more that come to us daily! 

Our mission as a dedicated animal rescue is giving every animal a safe haven, compassionate care, and a second chance at a loving home. We provide rescue, medical treatment, spay/neuter services, and thoughtful matchmaking for adopters, while supporting our community with education and resources that keep pets and families together. Every animal in our care is treated like an individual—with patience, love, and enrichment—until the day they find the home their perfect home. Our vision is a community where every companion animal is valued, protected, and loved.

As you can imagine, we are overwhelmed with needs! Our medical bills recently have skyrocketed! We have recently received animals with gunshot wounds, torn ACL and inverted eyelids all requiring corrective surgery!  With the summer heat upon us we are literally sweating as our HVAC unit needs some special attention to help keep our sweet pups cool and kennels well ventilated. Some of our kennels are in desperate need of repair to keep our dogs safe as well as our outdoor fencing needs some tlc to give our residents some appropriate outside time to stretch their legs and as always, the amount of food required to keep 95+ animals fed in a day is incredible....
